North Stone Modern
North Stone is shaped by topography, light, and deliberate sequencing. Built into a sloping site, the house serves as both architecture and infrastructure, using section to moderate scale, retain grade, and shape a series of gradual unfolding interior and exterior spaces. Arrival is calm and composed, opening to a main upper courtyard and a landscape structured for daily use, oriented inward providing screening from the street below.
Inside, the house is structured with clear hierarchy, separating public and private spaces while keeping circulation through the four levels easy to follow. The stairs are key organizing features, bringing natural light into the house and creating a sense of continuity. The lower level sets a strong foundation, supporting daily life through service, recreation, and wellness spaces that receive daylight and remain connected to the surrounding landscape. Throughout the house, consistent materials and careful planning reflect the thoughtful decisions made from the start, resulting in a home designed to serve its occupants quietly and confidently over time.
